"I Did It For Love" Music Video Will Be Out in Ear
Posted: BoA_rocks_in_english @ Wed Feb 18, 2009 3:09 pm
It has been revealed that Hollywood director, Joseph Kahn, is the director for the "I Did It For Love" music video. He has directed music videos for Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Brown, and the Pussycat Dolls along with many other artists.

According to SM Entertainment, Joseph Kahn visited BoA's dance studio. Kahn's passion was evident and he studied every single movement of BoA's performance. In January, the music video was shot at RenMar Studios in Hollywood. The main concepts of the music video are water, mystique, and black. The dance includes the use of a fan, giving the overall dance an Oriental feel to it. There will be a performance that is like a dynamic magic show. It is said that a special high-speed phantom camera was used to capture the details of BoA's performance with water.

More exciting news is that Sean Garrett makes a special appearance in the music video. After all, he is the one who wrote the lyrics, composed, produced and was even featured in the song!

The music video will be released in early March. Don't forget to mark your calendars on March 17th, to remind yourself to purchase BoA's self-entitled debut album!

In other news, BoA has been added her own feature page on New York's hit music station z100, as well as being the "Artist to Watch." With KIIS FM already owned, BoA has covered the U.S. shores, from east coast to west coast!

U.S. Debut Album Entitled BoA Will Be Out 3.17.09! + Random
Posted: BoA_rocks_in_english @ Fri Jan 30, 2009 8:58 am

BoA's self-titled debut album in the U.S. will be released on March 17th. Following the release date in the U.S., the self-titled album BoA will be available in Korea, Japan, and other respective countries in Asia along with the rest of the world. Her first album contains 11 tracks including "Eat You Up" and "Look Who's Talking." The title song is "I Did It For Love" which features Sean Garrett who also composed, produced, and even wrote the lyrics. MSNBC recently reported that BoA has finished a mid-tempo pop song titled "Obsessed" with producer Brian Kennedy who recently produced the hit song, "Disturbia" for Rihanna. BoA is currently in the U.S. having dance lessons for the new song's music video.

Here is the track list for her debut album, BoA:
1. I Did It For Love(featuring Sean Garrett)
2. Energetic
3. Did Ya
4. Look Who's Talking
5. Eat You Up
6. Obsessed
7. Touched
8. Scream
9. Girls On Top
10. Dress Off
11. Hypnotic dancefloor

BoA's second best compilation album, titled BEST & USA, will be a two-in-one special. BEST & USA will come in three versions: 2CD + 2DVD, 2CD and CD. The release date was pushed back from March 4th to March 18, 2009. The concept of BEST & USA's album cover is "now and then." BoA wearing the red dress represents "Asia's BoA" and the black, "America's BoA."

Sean Garrett praises BoA!
Producer Sean Garrett who is working with BoA on her debut album, praised her. BoA said, "He told me that 'you have a voice.' I think he meant that I have a distinctive voice. He also said that I seem to work really hard and everything would work out for me. That gave me a boost of strength."

Piece of crap!
The drama that BoA enjoyed watching the most was MBC's Beethoven Virus. BoA rented the DVD from Koreatown when she was in Los Angeles. BoA mentions that she uses the drama's most popular line, "똥덩어리 (dong dung uh ri)," which translates to "piece of crap," quite frequently.

Three cell phones
BoA says that she rotates the use of three cell phones while she is in Korea, Japan, and the U.S. The only two celebrities whom she stays in contact with the most is JaeJoong of TVXQ and HeeChul of Super Junior. The cell phone that BoA uses for Korea has approximately 150 phone numbers in the contact list, including celebrity friends. But since they do not keep in touch and phone numbers change a lot, BoA says that she talks to around 10 people the most, including her family members.

Fashion troubles
Apparently, most netizens and her fans did not love her choice of pants she wore at her YouTube Live performance back in November. "I liked that outfit, but I guess others didn't. It always seems like whatever clothes I wear on first performances never receive a good response," BoA said, laughing.

A tall male singer?
When asked if she would be a singer if she were to be reborn again, BoA replied that she would. "But in the next life I want to be born as a male, since I lived once as a female already. And be a really tall man so I can breath in the air above. I will probably think about height forever. And plus, these days, the average height is pretty tall. Even though some of us were born in the 80's, why are some people so lanky and some so short? But there are a lot of pop stars who are short, so that consoles me."

BoA’s “Eat You Up,” iTunes 4.5 Stars out of 5
Posted: BoA_rocks_in_english @ Wed Oct 22, 2008 4:39 am

On October 22 (Korea local time), BoA’s “Eat You Up” was released on the USA’s largest online music service iTunes, and had an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 from buyers. Since today, there are 90 reviews from Internet users.

Buyers reviewed such as, “The music’s beat and chorus captured my heart. Strongly recommended,” “It’s a great and lovely dance track. Wonderful,” “It has an attractive melody and simple lyrics, with a danceable beat and BoA’s good voice is impressive. Bloody and Avant have created another magnificent piece of work,” and “It’s addictive.”

But some fans said, “The beat is too simple and repetitive.”

This day marks BoA’s first step into the worldwide music market, with “Eat You Up” being available in the United States, Europe, and more than 30 countries on online music sites.

BoA’s SM Entertainment agent is looking to U.S. plans in the future, “We are in progress of promotion on radio broadcasts,” and “After November broadcasting [promotions] and such, we will start official U.S. activities.”

“Eat You Up” offline single will be released in the United States in November.
